About ODM
Originally founded by Anthony Olaes, a graphic designer by trade and an apparel licensing veteran, ODM has rapidly become a leading creative force in the retail sales arena. Since 1993, ODM has consistently designed and developed brands that sell out of the box at leading stores nationwide.
What began as a one-man shop now employs a team of more than 70 staff members. With corporate headquarters in Poway, California (a suburb of San Diego), ODM is creating some of the most innovative, leading edge designs in the marketplace.
ODM's first big hit came in 1994, when it shocked a national retailer and thrilled the Latino community with the launch of its Rollin' Hard apparel line. ODM (formerly known as Olaes Design & Marketing) proved to be way ahead of it's time. It was one of the first companies to create and deliver lifestyle apparel the young latino population embraced and purchased in record numbers.
Prior to Rollin' Hard, latinos were buying mainstream brands. This was the first time a major retailer had alternative product young Latinos could identify with and the results were amazing. In the first week alone, nearly all of the retailer's 300 stores realized 50% weekly sell through or better.
Some professionals in the apparel and licensing industries believed ODM would be another "one hit wonder" and fade away over time. The exact opposite has occurred. Since the time of Rollin' Hard's first record breaking sales, the company has propelled itself into exponential growth and momentum. Its' prolific design team generates over 100 new and original designs per month to keep up with demand by retailers.
In an industry where deadlines and details are commonly disregarded, ODM continues to stand out in the areas of personal attention and service, overall quality and on-time delivery. Hundreds of retail buyers and sales reps have grown accustomed to counting on ODM to deliver fast edgy designs, often in just one weeks time. No one else is consistently translating trends into mega-hits the way ODM does. A perfect example of one such mega-hit was ODM's Orange County Choppers line that was developed from 2003 to 2005.
The future is extremely bright for ODM, especially with its many apparel licenses like Guinness, Jimi Hendrix and Choppers Inc. to name just a few. ODM's unique creative abilities combined with its keen sense of trend makes ODM the first choice for all levels of retailers who want a new edge and phenomenal sell through.
